CALL FOR SPEAKERS
The 2026 Green Industry Show & Conference is set to take place on November 18-19, 2026, at Westerner Park in Red Deer, AB. This year’s theme, Rooted In Innovation: Growing Smarter for Tomorrow, encapsulates the spirit of innovation and growth within the landscape industry. Our amazing team is working to put together a conference program aimed to inform and inspire everyone from designers to arborists, owners to students, growers to contractors. When developing high quality and valuable educational content for the conference, our goal is to ensure a balanced offering that meets the variety of both skills and interest levels of the audience. To accomplish this, the GISC Committee calls upon professionals and experts in their field to share knowledge and business expertise. As such, we invite industry experts to submit a proposal to present at the 2025 Green Industry Conference.
Suggested topic areas include:
| Greenhouse Production (vegetable and ornamental) | Finances (budgeting, job costing, etc.). | New plant varieties |
| Strategic / Succession planning | Leadership / Team Building / Hiring | Garden retail & marketing |
| Turfgrass Varieties and Care | Landscape Maintenance | Integrated Pest Management |
| Landscape Design | Residential Construction | Arboriculture |
| Soil Health and Management | Irrigation / Water Management | Large Commercial / Tendering Issues |
| Tree Health & Diversity | Lawn care / Greenhouse Pesticide Application | Any research or topic related to the Green industry in Alberta/Prairie |
Session lengths for the conference are one hour and we ask speakers to provide two topics if possible. If your talk is a Keynote please indicate that in your session synopsis document. Keynotes should be a more general topic that will appeal to all attendees. Sessions can be more topic specific.

All submissions must be received by June 20, 2026. We will contact you if we have additional questions or require more information. Please allow for 60 days after your submission for us to review your proposal.
Sessions Proposal: Please upload a document below outlining 1 or 2 conference sessions you would like to present at GISC. Also include a brief description of the session content. Most of our presentations are 1 hour long. If you are submitting a Keynote presentation, please indicate that in your proposal document. Keynotes should be a more general topic that will appeal to all attendees. Session topics can be more specific.
Speaking Fee: Please let us know your speaking fee below. As an association, we work to keep costs low for attendees. Keep in mind that overstating your fees may screen you out for consideration at our event. Your cost should be inclusive of total sessions you are proposing to present. We cover travel expenses such as flights, hotel rooms, food, and ground transportation. If you have a flat fee for expenses we are happy to work with that, otherwise please do not include travel expenses in your speaking fee.
